Commitment to patient safety and quality of care are core values in the mission of the Adventist Health Network of Pará (RAS/PA). For this reason, the Adventist Hospital of Barcarena, which is part of the RAS/PA and is located in the metropolitan region of Belém, Pará, Brazil, has been awarded the Qmentum International Gold accreditation. Granted by the Quality Global Alliance (QGA), it guarantees a seal of quality for following rigorous international standards of quality and patient safety.

In Brazil, only 7% of hospitals, both public and private, are accredited. Of the 450 hospitals certified by Qmentum International, only 18 are in the North region. Given this scenario, this recognition further strengthens the medical missionary work of the Adventist Health Network of Pará (RAS/PA), whose mission is to care for the body, mind, and spirit of its patients. For the institution's medical director, Dr. Edgar Sobrinho, this accreditation clearly reflects the Adventist values of excellence and care in health care.

“The Adventist Church is known for its healthcare. Now, with another of our institutions internationally certified, this only proves our commitment to comprehensive care. This glorifies God, strengthens the Church, and becomes a great tool for spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ,” says Sobrinho.

The Impact of Certification on Medical Missionary Work

More than a seal of excellence, the Qmentum certification reinforces the Adventist network's commitment to the mission of caring for others.

“Achieving this accreditation is an important milestone in our commitment to providing safe and excellent patient care. This is the result of the team’s structured and consistent work. Network integration and strategic management were essential to this achievement,” says Quality Global Alliance CEO, Dr. Rubens Covello.

Accreditation benefits the patients it serves and establishes Belém Adventist Hospital as a reference in the Tocantins region of Pará, influencing other health institutions to adopt safer practices. For the medical missionary work, certification is a milestone that strengthens the legacy of comprehensive care, promoting quality health with Christian principles.
